Broadway Cast of The Lion King Celebrates Disney’s New Remake
The celebration includes original Lion King Broadway cast members and other Broadway hits.
Disney’s brand new “live-action” adaptation of The Lion King is slated to come into theaters July 18. To celebrate its latest release, the current cast of the Broadway remake is celebrating the release of the movie at AMC Empire 25 on West 42nd Street.
The celebration promises to be a full house as along with the current cast; there will also be members from the original 1997 Broadway cast present. Cast members from Broadway’s hit like Ain’t Too Proud, Aladdin, Frozen, and more will be in attendance.
The current cast members of the live-action adaptation include Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar along with other notable cast members. Fans will be happy to know that James Earl Jones will be reprising his role as Mufasa. Amy Sedaris will play a new character specifically written for the live adaptation.
The Broadway adaptation of Lion King is still on at the Minskoff Theatre.
